Yobe State Scholarship Board Rejects National Secretary's Resignation

The Yobe State Scholarship Board has turned down the resignation of its national students secretary.

A press release sent by the secretary confirmed by VAM News reads :

                                     LETTER OF REJECTION OF RESIGNATION

With reference to your resignation letter cited, I am inclined to convey the decision of the Scholarship board  in regard to the tendering of resignation to the post of National Secretary General  in Nuyoss. The board is highly appreciated with your caliber and hard work rendered to the union  for some times, and has come to the conclusion that a fully qualified ,experienced and capacitated individual like you, may not loose the union  for the best interests of the students. The board always expect people like you to serve in the union  in order to derive its objectives. I hope you would understand the situation in the light of the growing tendencies being developed day by day in the union, and would reconsider your decision to continue in Nuyoss as the national secretary to help the union in promoting the welfare of Yobe state students in coming days.

Considering the facts mentioned above, I sincerely request you to reconsider your decision and withdraw your resignation in the interest of the students.

The the board assured you to provide and promote the welfare and settle the remaining students  that did not receive their scholarship allowance for the benefits of your people as you request so as to help them in their studies.

This is coming barely after 26 hours declaration of his resignation, hundreds of students began to accuse the Yobe State Scholarship Board of being responsible for the resignation of the influencial students leader Comrade Kayeri. 

VAM News reports that this came after months of unpaid students scholarship which the secretary has been fighting for.

In an earlier interview with him, Kayeri disassociated the link of his resignation to anyone, and pleaded with his followers to remain calm.

However, following the press release, the scholarship board also urged students to stay calm as the  await the scholarship.
