Islamic Group, SB Engages About 1000 Youths With Trainings During Easter

The Easter of every year is a festive period and it usually features a number of holiday. Easter is said to be a festival and holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

Despite the global acceptance of the holidays, a wide range of Muslims do not participate in the glitz and glamour that com with the festival.

According to them, Jesus Christ who is called Essa by the Muslims, was not dead as erroneously believed by the majority of Christians.

VAM News confirmed that According to the Shari'iah, Muslims are forbidden from imitating the unbelievers and participating in their festivals. Rather, Islam enjoins them to wish them well. But just as the non-Muslims have their own exclusive festivals, Muslims also have theirs.

In view of the aforementioned, an Islamic group, Standard Bearers Islamic Organization (SB) Osun State branch, has mapped out camping programme to engage about 1000 Muslim youths during the Easter break.

The Chairman of the Organising Committee of the camp, Alhaji Badrudeen Yahya, said the camp organisers are anticipating about a thousand delegates that are to be empowered spiritually and academically through soul inspiring lectures, motivational discussion on characters building and memorisation of Quran among others.

He explained that the theme of the camp "The Turning Point" was selected because of the utmost need for Muslims and Nigerians to re - asses their actions for desired growth.

He recommended the need for Nigeria to return to the basis if the country must experience growth that would benefit the citizenry.

Adding that, the contribution of SB to the national development are enormous and these include serving as a potent tool of national unity and cohesion. While the society has remained a pressure group working for the advancement of the interest of Muslims and Islam.

He noted that the mandate of the organization in Osun is to inculcate leadership skills and management training in youth in accordance with divine injunctions.
