PDP's Presidential Candidate, Atiku reacts to APC’s claim at Election Tribunal that he’s not Nigerian

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate for the 2019 election, has dismissed the petition by the All Progressives Congress (APC) contesting his citizenship as untrue and childish.

Atiku Abubakar, who was the former vice-president during President Olusegun Obasanjo's regime who spoke through his media aide in a reports obtained by VAM News, Paul Ibe, said that it was an insult to Nigerians and the office of Vice President which he occupied for eight years, for the APC to question his nationality.

According to him “This is idiotic. It is idiotic. And it is ridiculous and disrespectful to him, the office he held and to people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria."

He also said that, everything shouldn't be uttered on the basis of politics. 

It was reported that APC had earlier filed a motion at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja, stating that " Atiku Abubakar is not a Nigerian that he is a Camerronian" according to petition filed by the party(APC) through its lead counsel Lateef Fagbemi.
