OPEN DAY-
CHAPTER TWO
Published by: VAM News

She just jumped out of her shop to start running towards the OAUTHC gate when Johnson
screamed her name.

“Mommy!!!” He screamed to stop her from crossing the road while standing with Mr.
David who they have luckily and coincidentally boarded the same bus together. Thanks to his wise decision of following Mr. David because if he had followed the first bus he would have been
involved in the same accident.

“Johnson! Come here!” She shouted on top of her voice which attracted some attention.
They ran to meet each other as she held him so close while Mr. David who was stained already from the rescue mission he found himself doing earlier on impatiently watched the drama of
mother and son.

He felt a sense of pity in him but could not wait to express it because he had to go into the hospital to see which of the remaining students will survive from the accident caused by
the reckless driving of the “Sabo-Lagere” driver which almost claimed lives of people if there were no instant helps from the people around Ikoyi quarters.

Mrs. Jegede could not hold her tears as memories of days her husband used to pick their child from school ran in her head. At this point, she really wished her husband was alive and that the car left for her by her husband has not been forcefully collected from her greedy in laws. The
only thing that was left in her care was the small house built by her husband before he eventually died.

She did not waste so much time at her shop as she immediately closed to go home. Mrs.
Aina watched her and her son struggled with what she would have helped them with but refused
to look their direction and decided to just snub them. After some minutes of packing in the cartons of drink and already baked cakes displayed for potential customers, Mrs. Jegede and her son were
set to leave for home which was not too far from their shop.

“So how did it happen?” asked Mrs. Jegede as they got closer to their house.
“Mom, I cannot really explain it, it was just like a drama, and the drivers were just driving
anyhow” Johnson said as he motioned to open the gate of the house.

“All that matters to me right now is the fact that you are safe” She said as she forced a
bitter smile on her face.

Over at the hospital was an atmosphere of relieve as no live was lost but two students of
the neighboring schools were brutally injured and the health practitioners could not help but admit
them at the hospital pending the time their respective health get better.
Mr. David came out of the emergency unit sweating but calmer than when they came in
when the atmosphere was still tensed. The school principal and his wife came in no long after to meet the already dirty Mr. David who was outside receiving fresh air.

“David, how are you, thank you for calling right on time” The Principal said as he moved
towards the entrance of the emergency unit with his wife and Mr. David as his company.
“I am fine sir, no lost was recorded but some of them are injured of which they have been
taken care of already” Mr. David said as they all entered simultaneously.
“Oluwaseun o” the principal’s wife with a tone of gratitude said.
In no time, things were back to state of normalcy and the parents of the respective students have been called upon to come and cater for their respective wards. Mr. David was released to go home with permission to miss work the following day due to the stress he has already gone through, a golden opportunity for Mr. David to do that which he has always wanted to do – rest and relax.

He was at the phase II gate waiting for another bus that will take him to Lagere when he
suddenly saw his girlfriend, Omolayo in the company of another man entering the Tantalizers.

He wanted to doubt his sense of seeing because it was getting dark already but then, the beauty and structure of Omolayo can the spotted from any part of the world at first glance.

Could she be
confirming the rumors that has been coming to the notice of David all along, which he has been avoiding and not taking cognizance of?

He could not believe his eyes and he became restless, lost
in the dilemma of either going home or confirming what his eyes has just seen by going to Tantalizers to get something.

He concluded and decided to go get something at tantalizers.
