VAM News Recall that the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, TSU chapter last Wednesday resumed its earlier shelved industrial strike over issues of funding among others.

The union in 2018 suspended the industrial action following assurances that the state government would meet its demands.

Chairman of NANS, TSU chapter, Ande Boyi, while reacting to the strike, noted that prompt action was needed from the state government to save the situation.

According to him, “students are not supposed to stay at home when their colleagues in other institutions are continuing with their studies.” He urged the state government to as a matter of urgency “meet the demands of ASUU to ensure that students don’t stay at home for long.”
