INEC disengages incompetent ad-hoc staff 

The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), in Niger State says it has disengaged some of the ad-hoc staff it engaged for the last presidential and National Assembly elections for incompetence.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the State, Prof. Sam Egwu who made this known at the Presidential and National Assembly Elections Evaluation, and Analysis organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) State Ministry of Information Chapel in Minna, Niger State yesterday.

He said the disengaged staff could not meet up with the expectations of the Commission and could not, therefore, retain them in their various posts to avoid messing up the Saturday elections.

He further disclosed that the disengaged staff have been replaced for more effective conduct of the Saturday Governorship and House of Assembly elections.

Earlier, the facilitator of the training, Mohammed Mohammed called on politicians to see themselves as partners in progress for the sustainability of our Democracy especially for the success of the Saturday Elections.
