Parents of the abducted students of the College of Forestry Mechanization, Afaka in Kaduna state, have opened up on the sad experience while negotiating the freedom of their children from the abductors.

One of the parents Speaking with Roots TV, said she and the other parents have been attending meetings in order to secure the release of the abducted students. She went on to note that they were taken to the home of prominent Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi who directed them to a Fulani man identified as Ahmed.

According to her, Ahmed invited a Fulani man from Kaduna to meet them and the parents contributed almost N800,000 for him. However, the unidentified man told the guardians that the money was just for transport and insisted they pay an additional N500 million.

The parent said she cried and pleaded with him, as she's a widow, but he said it was none of his concern.
