Daredevil Gunmen Strike Again, Shot Dead Kogi Commissioner, LG Boss Missing

Unknown gunmenmen have ended the life of a commissioner in the Kogi State Pension Board, Hon. Adebayo Solomon (Akeweje).

He was killed on Saturday evening, May 1, along Yagba – Ilorin Road in Kogi state. According to a report by Leadership, other persons were kidnapped by the same attackers.

Solomon's vehicle was reportedly shot at but his driver, who also got hit, managed to drive it to Egbe town before he eventually collapsed.

It was learnt that the remains of the commissioner had been deposited at the ECWA Hospital mortuary in Egbe.

Whereabouts of LG chairman unknown The Punch reports that the whereabouts of the chairman of Yagba West local government area, Pius Kolawole, is yet to be known.

Kolawole was reportedly with Solomon when the incident happened. Confirming the report, the state police commissioner, Ayuba Ede, said “the incident took place at Eruku general area of Kwara state”.

According to him, an investigation is in progress. The security situation in Nigeria keeps getting worse as innocent citizens, including security officials are killed on a daily basis. Kidnapping is fast becoming the order of the day.
