NPFL club Enyimba Slap N550m Valuation On Super Eagles Star, Anayo Iwuala

Nigerian Professional Football League club Enyimba have reportedly placed a staggering €1million (about N550million) asking price on their forward Anayo Iwuala, Complete Sports reports.

Iwuala who has been impressive in the NPFL this season for the Peoples’ Elephants earned a call up into the national team for the just concluded AFCON qualifiers.

The 22-year-old impressed on his national team debut against the Squirrels of Benin in Porto Novo on March 27 where Nigeria grabbed a late goal through Paul Onuachu to claim all three points.

Iwuala also came in as a substitute three days later in the game against Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere Lagos.

The former KADA City star then returned to his club and delivered a sumptuous assist in Enyimba’s 2-1 home win against Tunisian ES Setif on Sunday. Not less than five European clubs are currently jostling for the signature of the former Delta Force player.

Meanwhile, a throw-back photo has continued to make the rounds on social media showing new Super Eagles invitee Anayo Iwuala struggling to take a picture with Kelechi Iheanacho.

The Enyimba of Aba striker was called into the national team by coach Gernot Rohr, as a replacement for Almeria forward Sadiq Umar who could not make trip back home.

Umar who has been impressive for the Spanish side was not released by his club due to Covid-19 protocols. His scintillating form earned him his first call-up to the senior national team, having previously starred for the West African’s U23 side.

Recall that the Super Eagles had played their previous AFCON qualifying matches in Asaba, the Delta State capital, a picture shows Anayo Iwuala struggling to take a picture with Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
