Buhari’s Shoot-On-Sight Order has not Proved to be Sufficient, Pastor Bakare laments
Pastor Tunde Bakare on Sunday, April 4, said President Muhammadu Buhari’s shoot-on-sight order has not proved sufficient to ease attacks in the north.
The founder and general overseer of Citadel Global Community Church in a series of tweets to commemorate the 2021 Easter celebrations lamented over the activities of bandits cattle rustlers, and herdsmen in the northern part of the country.
VAM News recalls that in order to rid the north of bandits terrorising the states, President Buhari directed security agencies to shoot anyone seen with AK-47.
The popular cleric explained that in spite of the president’s controversial order for illegal bearers of AK-47 guns to be shot the attacks have not reduced.
Bakare went on to note that farming in southern Nigeria has been destabilised by the activities of criminal herdsmen.
Similarly, the man of God said the Nigeria of today is not the same one he and Buhari had dreams to create when he was invited to be his running mate in 2011.
According to him, said the state of things in Nigeria is not a representation of the President Buhari that he knows.
Bakare disclosed that he was forced to speak out because the president's legacy was in grave danger of being confined to an unsavoury side of history.
