Breaking: Gunshots at southwest PDP congress as Fayose whisked away from venue

A report by The Nation indicates that there was pandemonium at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Southwest zonal congress on the evening of Monday, April 12, in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.

VAM News gathered that the incident occurred around 6:45 pm when some suspected hoodlums advanced towards the gate of the WOCDIF event centre where the congress was taking place in an attempt to invade the premises.

The report said that the former Ekiti governor, Ayodele Fayose was about to leave the venue when the hoodlums attempted to invade the premises.

Security operatives, however, repelled the invasion through the quick intervention of Osun Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode and other officers.

The security operatives shot sporadically to the air to scare away the hoodlums.

Security operatives whisked Fayose away in a black tinted jeep unhurt.
