Relocating Abroad? After DSS Detention, Ganduje’s Former Aide Leaves Nigeria

Salihu Tanko Yakasai, a former media aide to Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has left the country following his release from the Department of State Services (DSS).

Weeks after his sack, the former media aide in photos posted on his Twitter page on Wednesday, March 17, said goodbye to Nigeria as he thanked God for leaving.

It's however, not clear where Yakasai is heading to and if he is relocating abroad permanently.

VAM News recalls that Governor Ganduje had sacked Yakasai for making a statement termed critical to the President Buhari's administration.

His sack was announced by the state commissioner for information, Malam Muhammad Garba, on Saturday, February 27.

Hours after Yakasai was declared missing DSS confirmed his arrest and detainment in a statement it released on Sunday, February 28. DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunnanya, said the former media aide was arrested for more than expressing his personal opinion about the government.
