COVID-19: Ondo takes delivery of vaccines
The Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines have been delivered to the Ondo State.
The 75,570 doses of the vaccine, which were delivered, arrived in the state through Akure Airport on Tuesday evening and were received by officials of the Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency.
Last week, Nigeria took delivery of about four million doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines as part of an overall 16 million doses planned to be delivered to the country in batches over the next few months.
With the delivery of the vaccines in the state, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is expected to flag-off the vaccination this week in Akure, the state capital.
Confirming the delivery of the vaccines, the Chairman of the State’s Inter Ministerial Committee on COVID-19, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi, stated that the state will commence the vaccinations in line with the scheduled guidelines laid down by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA).
