Big Jubilation As Top African Country Qualify For Their 1st Ever Nations Cup Tournament

Gambia have qualified for their first ever African Cup of Nations championship in their history after beating Angola 1-0 on Thursday night, March 25 in their fifth game in the qualifiers.

FC Zurich forward Assan Ceesay scored the winner for Gambia against Angola in this encounter for them to get the ticket even though they still have a match to finish the qualifiers.

After missing out in the last Nations Cup in Egypt, Gabon will be participating in the 2022 edition thanks to their win over DR Congo on Thursday.

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Denis Bouanga and Aaron Boupendza scored the goals for the Panthers.

The Congolese on the other hand miss out for the first time since 2012 having appeared at the last four tournaments.

Gabon and Gambia have now joined Ghana, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Comoros and Equatorial Guinea as the nations who have qualified for the 2022 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Games will continue this weekend in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers as Super Eagles will be facing Benin Republic in Porto Novo.
