LASU students reject tuition fees reduction

Following governor Sanwo-Olu's approval for the reduction of tuition fees for students of the Lagos State University (LASU), from 67,000 to 57,000, the students have rejected the reduction calling for a total reversal to the old rate.

The Student Union Government released a statement on Saturday, 30 January through its public relations officer, Adams Zaenab Olawumi, appreciating the university management and the state government for the swift response, but insisted that the students wanted a complete reversal to the old rate of N25,000, rather than N10,000 reduction.

The union said it would continue to negotiate with the university management and state government for a downward review of the reduced school fees to the initial amount of #25,300.
