JUST IN: Youths protest incessant harassment, arrest in Osun

Scores of youths on Tuesday staged a protest in Ilesha, Osun state over incessant harassment and arrest by security agents, particularly men of the Economic and Financial Crime commission, EFCC.

The youths in their large number, according to a news bulletin aired on a popular radio station in Osogbo on Tuesday, were said to have blocked Osogbo/Ilesa expressway in the state.

It was gathered that they stormed the Ilesa West Local Government Secretariat, Ilesa and made bonfire on the road, therefore halting free flow of traffic along the busy road.

The bonfire was said to have been made exactly at the entrance of the Ilesa Council office.

VAM News reports that some of the protesters alleged that some EFCC officials recently stormed the hotel they lodged and arrested some of their friends.

Motorists plying the expressway were said to have been stranded owing to the road blockage

Some of the road users, who know the terrain, had made u-turn for other route.
