OSUN POLY: NANS wants N10,000 late registration fee reversed
National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS Zone D of South West on Friday called on Osun State polytechnic, Iree, management as a matter of urgency immediately refers N10,000 late registration fees that was imposed on the students, who were yet to complete their tuition fees.
VAM News gathered that the school authority on 11 January, 2021 imposed late registration fees on students the institution who are yet to pay up their 2019/2020 academic session fees.
Speaking, NANS Zone D Public Relation Officer, Comrade Olatunji Nurudeen popularly known as Solace urged the school management to cancel the late registration fee as matter of urgency.
Comrade Nurudeen said that the students were not happy with the new development, stressing that the authority in charge should leave up to the tax before it goes out of hand.
According to him, "as part of three C of struggle Consultation, Consolidation and Confrontation we have taken step one and we still going to meet with the Rector again to state reason the management need to refer N10,000 late registration".
Urging the Osun poly Portal manager to make all his possible best to ensure that the late registration refer.
Similarly, Committee for Defence of Human Right, CDHR, Iree campus coordinator, Comrade Tajudeen Wasiu described the late registration fees as unconstitutional.
Comrade Wasiu argued that in as much the school is still running 2019/2020 academic session there is no justification for late registration.
Speaking, Students Union President, Comrade Raji Kehinde said the Union is taking every possible effort to make sure the the late registration refer for the betterment of the students.
Comrade Kehinde further said that they have made several meeting with the top of the management to cancel the last registration.
