NIMC SIM Registration: How To Check If Your NIN Is Linked To Your Phone Number

Following the order by Federal Government of Nigeria that Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on Tuesday gave telecos in the country two weeks to block subscriber identity module (SIM) cards that are not registered with the National Identity Numbers (NIN) usually issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

Here is a quick tip given by VAM News on how to check if yours has NIN linked.

Check below:

Dial *346# – The service costs N20 per dial.

From the options displayed, select “NIN Retrieval”, by typing in ‘1’, if you are using the same phone number you enrolled with for your NIN.

Then, follow the steps displayed on your screen and provide the required inputs.

According to report, some people will still have NIN linked as long as they completed their registration appropriately even though they don't have National ID Card (NIMC).
