NANS President Mourns Student Allegedly Killed By Amotekun Corp, Vows To Get Justice

The press release sent to VAM News unedited below;

WE CRY, WE MOURN AND WE FIGHT:  PRESS RELEASE BY THE REVOLUTIONARY NANS PRESIDENT, COMRADE SUNDAY ASEFON ON THE MURDER OF 400L STUDENT OF UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN BY AMOTEKUN SECURITY

It has been brought to my notice the horrible murder of one of our members,   Gbadebo Uthman Kolapo an educational management degree student of Federal College of Education (Special) Oyo State  affiliated to the University of Ibadan. He was allegedly shot to dead by the Amotekun Security on 17th December, 2020.

We cry and mourn our innocent member killed in this gruesome manner, we are particularly disappointed  with  the fact that neither the Oyo State Government nor Amotekun Security  has accounted for the circumstances surrounding his death.

NANS considered the criminal silence of Mr Governor, Engnr. Seyi Makinde,  Security stakeholders, as an attempt to sweep this murder case under the carpet.

We therefore,  demand an explanation on the circumstances surrounding the death of our member, we want to know if the alleged killer has been arrested and we also  demand full public updates  on the murder of our student.

Let it be noted that in fighting for justice for our students, NANS we leave no stone unturned as we are set to storm Oyo State to demand for account on this gruesome murder.

Amotekun Security Network was established to protect the people of the South West from external marauders and assist in the protection of lives and properties. It is too early for this organization to derail from its core mandate and start killing same people it was established to protect.

Again, this death will not be swept under the carpet, we will do everything within our capacity to ensure that justice  is well served and the killers are brought to book while the family he left behind are compensated for their loss.

Signed:

Comrade Sunday Asefon,

Revolutionary NANS President
