N3billion Christmas gift: Olajide berates Fayemi, says Governor wasting Ekiti money on fruitless ambition

A Public affairs analyst, Mr. Olajide Omotayo (Harmony) has berated the State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi for Allegedly spending tax payers money on a frivolous presidential agenda. 

Mr. Olajide alleged that the Governor Fayemi spent a total of N3billion to all organs of the All Progressives Congress as Christmas gift in a bid to curry favor and win their heart towards securing the party's ticket for the upcoming 2023 Presidential election. 

Olajide, who made reference to a statement credited to the Ekiti APC youths congress (EAYC) revealed that the national caretaker committee received 600 million naira while 50 million naira were given to caretaker committees in each of the 36 states and the Federal capital territory, noting that not in the history of the party has any State Governor given out such jaw dropping amount of money as Yuletide Bonanza.

The youthful politician advised the Governor to stop using taxpayers' money to fund an impossible mission but should rather concentrate on capacity building and human capital development, as well as focus on bringing rapid development to the state.

While lamenting the moribund state of the Local Government system in the state, Olajide Harmony urged the state government to allow the third tier of government function independently in accordance with the Local Government autonomy law as approved by President Muhammadu Buhari.
