BREAKING: Nana Akufo-Addo In Historic Election Win, Emerges Ghana's President-Elect

The head of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, Madam Jean Mensag has mentioned the flagbearer of the National Patriotic Party (NPP) winner of this year’s election.


According to her, Nana Addo retained the seat with a total vote of 6, 730,413 (51.9%) ahead of the NDC’s John Mahama who placed second with total votes of 6,214,889 , 47.36%.



She made the declaration today at her office in the presence of the media, ECOWAS leaders, USA and UK high commissioners, Heads of African states and some traditional rulers.


Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is a Ghanaian politiciwh,  who is the current President of Ghana. 


VAM News recalls that Nana Akufo-Addo won the 2016 presidential election against the incumbent, John Dramani Mahama, by a margin of 94.45% and he has been in office since 7 January 2017.


He previously served as Attorney General from 2001 to 2003 and as Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2003 to 2007 under the Kufuor-led administration.
