Gunmen on rampage in Ondo as Wife of Akeredolu’s Chief of Staff kidnapped

Wife of Olugbenga Ale, Chief of Staff to Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has been kidnapped.

A source made the confirmation to VAM News on Friday afternoon.

“She was abducted today around Owena. The location is inward Akure after Joseph Ayo Babalola University. That’s all I know for now”, he said.

The incident occured 24 hours after the murder of Oba Adegoke Isreal Adeusi, the traditional ruler of Ifon in Ose Local Government Area.

Akeredolu has visited Ale to show solidarity.

Also on Thursday, a bank was attacked at Ode-irele town. One person was killed.

Another source told VAM News that Mrs Ale was on transit when the bandits abducted her.

He added that the gunmen ran into the bush after abducting the woman.

“The woman was abducted at Owena along Ondo Road.

“The case has been reported to the security agencies especially the Amotekun and army to comb everywhere and we are expecting a feedback soon.”

When contacted, Tee-Leo Ikoro, spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, said he was not aware and promised to get back, but had yet to do so as of the time of this report.
