Lawanson Adeniran foundation, others observe world suicide prevention day 2020(photos)

Suicide is the 15th leading cause of mortality rate in the world as Over 8,000 people die through suicide on yearly bases.










Lawason Adeniran Foundation( LAF) in collaboration with Red cross, EKSU LEO CLUB, NYCSRF_ Nigerian Youth Corporate social Responsiblty Fund, Council of elders, Social media Evangelism & Advocacy foundation and VAM ONLINE NEWS, Joined the world to observe the World suicide prevention day (WSPD 2020).


With the theme: WORKING TOGETHER TO PREVENT SUICIDE, noting that Suicide is attempted after been driven to depression, But I will love to say something about "Suicide and depression"
Most people who kill themselves are dealing with depression, however not every depressed person attempt suicide, convener  said.


According to the group, the link between depression and suicide is very strong.


"so I advise us to take caution, Suicide is not the ultimate solution to a temporary problem."
 










In the working against suicide, the group had 30days online campaign which started on 10th August, 2020 to 10th of September 2020.


Aside this there was a Twitter conversation on the last day, were there was a guest from  mental health innovative who spoke extensively on suicide and prevention.

The programme is an avenue to reach out to the of Ekiti state, we had  physical campaign at ijigbo in Ado -Ekiti, the state capital against suicide.


On this note we say a big thank you to all our Volunteer and audience.

You are alive for a purpose. The people who commitid suicide die once but those they left behind die a thousand times, So Stay positive, Reach out, Speak out when you have a problem, the programme stated.
