The Ondo state election brouhaha continued as House of Assembly allegedly suspended its Deputy minority leader, Hon. Tomide Akinribido.

Akinribido who is the only member of of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) representing Ondo West Constituency 1 in the State House of Assembly.

He was suspended for issuing out a vulgar words why requesting for clarifications on the suspended three members of the house.

VOICE AIR MEDIA learnt that the suspended lawmaker, Mr Akinribido was said to have apologized for the alleged unwholesome messages which the lawmakers rejected.

At the plenary today in Akure, the Speaker, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun noted that the suspended lawmaker would be made to face an ad hoc committee that would look into the matter.

The suspension of the Lawmaker is coming few weeks after three lawmakers were suspended for similar offence

Mr. Akinribido has been ordered to drop official documents in his care.

He was also ordered to abstain from the premises of the Assembly complex while the suspension lasts.

On July 8, 2020, the Deputy Speaker of the house, Hon. Iroju Ogundeji, Hon. Adewale Williams and Hon. Favour Tomomewo were suspended.

It was gathered that the suspension is not unconnected with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s desperate move to stop Ajayi from contesting the 2020 governorship election on the platform of the ZLP.

Meanwhile, the Ondo state deputy governor, Hon. Agboola Ajayi on Tuesday shunned the State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) congress where the party members were electing new Executives.

It was gathered that supporters of Ajayi were out of the state in preparation for his official declaration for Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).

The public and media space had been bombarded with posters that the deputy governor had ditched the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to contest the election under the ZLP.

This may not be unconnected with the plan impeachment plot of the Deputy Governor, who left the Akeredolu government to the opposition. In a bid to muscle out two third majority in the house for the impeachment, the suspension might be seen as political.
