Nigerian govt reacts as 7 students writing WASSCE contract COVID-19 in Gombe

Seven students of Government Girls Secondary School, Doma, Gombe State, have tested positive for COVID-19.


The Federal Government had permitted schools to reopen partially on August 4 for graduating classes to write their examinations.


Despite meeting up with the Covid-19 protocol laid down by the FG before the Kickstart of this year edition of WASSCE report from Gombe has proven that the life of the students are at stake with other students now clamoring for school re-opening for not lesser than seven students of Government Girls’ College in Doma, Gombe state who are currently writing their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) have tested positive for COVID-19

This was announced by the Gombe State commissioner for education, Habu Dahiru on Wednesday, August 19 after 1,100 cases were tested, out of which the first case came from Government Science Secondary School.


VOICE AIR MEDIA learnt that the exam will not cease to continue in the State, according to the commissioner.
