International Youth Day: NANS Presidential candidate, Asefon hints Nigerian Youths the need to be useful in youthful age

The NANS presidential candidate, Asefon Sunday has felicitated with the youths across the globe on the 21st Anniversary of the International Youth Day 2020 celebration.
He said IYD is an awareness day celebrated every 12th of August as designated by the United Nations to draw attention to the various issues surrounding the youth, as well as ways by which youth can be engaged in solving world problems.
'I encouraged the youth to be more committed and increase the level of engagement in all sectors of the nation building to see a greater Nigeria'.

The theme for this year’s celebration “Youth Engagement for Global Action” gives a clear description of what the world observes about the stake of young people globally.
Asefon reiterated that this global description which has been on his mind inspired his decision with a move to serve the students community as the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) presidential candidate in the coming convention as indicated in his campaign slogan, he said he is committed to keeping the "Symbol Of New NANS" for the futuristic benefit of education sector of our great Nation.
Amid the fast spreading COVID19 pandemic in the nation which edges towards 50,000 cases, the youth have a responsibility to guard against being infected, as well as help to trunk the rate of infection by observing the NCDC protocols of washing/sanitizing hands, wearing of face mask, avoiding crowded areas and observing social distancing.
He encouraged the youths to be more creative in thinking and show more passion in their area of interest to make a living, noting that no fewer than 5 million unemployed youths have registered for an available slots of 400,000 N-POWER volunteer corps batch C, provided by the Nigerian government to empower Nigerians between 18 and 35.
The spirit that you embody as youth will play a crucial role in the socio-economic survival of the world.
'As leaders of today, I encourage you all to preach and practice peace, demonstrate patriotism at all levels, groom yourselves in your area of interests and promote competence in that your chosen field/career/profession Only then can we truly have the Nigeria of our dream'.
"I shall stay the course and continue to offer my shoulders for Nigerian students to climb". Asefon Sunday said.
