Nigerians have condemned the poor treatment of customers by the management of the Guarantee Trust Bank in Ogooluwa, Osogbo, Osun state.
Voice Air Media gathered that Customers of GTB Osogbo branch have expressed their displeasure through a protest over ‘ill treatment’ by the Management of the bank.
According to report, customers were sighted carrying placard with inscription “GTB is worrisome”, “GTB is stressful” “we are tired of GTB” among others.
One of the customer, Esiegbe Emmanuel O told Voice Air Media ”it is unfair and bad how GTB treat their customers, I personally came here from a very far town just to be deny access to withdraw my money, we were told that we are too many and they can’t attend to us”.
Another Nigerian who spoke to our correspondent said the security man of the bank claimed that he was instructed to write 230 names for the period of 8am-5pm stipulated by the bank, while berating the management of the bank for not putting proper measures in place during the pandemic period.
Our correspondent who visited the bank discovered that the arrangements was made for people to come in and move out but the problem is when people are impatient enough, try to overtake or chance those on the queue to enter the bank without observing the procedures set out by the bank just to put things in order like social distancing and to avoid large gathering due to the covid19 pandemic.
While reacting, the branch manager, Simeon Oyewo said, he is not actually at work to comment on the incident, but encourage customers to use mobile banking and if there is need to visit the bank at this period of pandemic, people should please corporate with the bank.
All the minor complaints will be attended to in due time, he said.
Meanwhile, all efforts to reach the branch Chief Security officer (CSO) as at press time proved abortive.
