COVID-19: School owners debunk claims of 25,000 teachers benefited from Osun Governor wife's Palliatives

THE Osun state chapter of the National Association of Proprietors of Private School Owners have debunked the claims by the wife of Osun State Governor and the President Ilerioluwa Development Initiative, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola that no fewer than 25,000 members of the association benefited from the palliative items she distributed.
One of the members of NAPPSO, Architecture Goke Omigbondun while featuring on a news and current affairs Programe, Rave Fm on Tuesday, said only 1105 members given the palliatives contrary to the claims by the first lady that 25 ,000 teachers were the beneficiaries.
The first lady had in a statement said no fewer than 25, 000 have benefited from palliative items distributed through her Initiative, the gusture according to the first lady was part of the measures to mitigate the hardship faced by the private schools teachers in the state due to the coronavirus pandemic.
But, Omigbodun rejected the claim on the ground that the number of the beneficiaries was hike contrary to the exact number of the beneficiaries.
Omigbodun said the palliatives given to them by the first lady of the state as part of relief materials to cushion the effect of COVID-19 is not up to 25,000, saying when he counted it “the palliatives can only go round for 1,105 teachers”.
Speaking during the program, obtained by VOICE AIR MEDIA Omigbondun asked the state Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs. Funke Egbemode to explain why the figure was hiked.
In her response to numbers of the private school teachers who benefited from the palliatives, Egbemode said ” I will rather not speak about it, somobody will speak for the first lady” adding that it is ” a whole big topic”.
”I can only only speak that the first lady will continue to do it, that is the kind of person she is, a kind of person that will suspend her birthday celebration to do medical mission.
“Whatever she has given I am sure it is the beginning , she will do more.”
“Somebody is designated to speak on the activities of the first lady”.
