The leadership of the second largest students movement in Africa, National Association Of Polytechnic Students NAPS, passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of Osun State House of Assembly (OSHA) for swinging into action as a matter of urgency to curb the menace of Rape which is becoming rampant in the society by approving life imprisonment for Rape and fourteen (14) years jail term for attempt on Wednesday, 3rd June, 2020, VAM reports.

Following the recent ugly and sad occurrence of Rape lately which has bedevilled our society ,leaving our women in pains and sending some to their early grave, the leadership of NAPS led by the National President, Activist Sunday A. Asuku immediately commenced a virtual demonstration again Rape, requesting for harsh penalty (death sentence) for Rapists.

In a statement made available to VOICEAIRMEDIA, We deeply appreciate the giant stride of the Osun State House Of Assembly (OSHA) led by the speaker Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye for taking the lead, we must kill these heinous crimes before they consume our society and eventually turn Nigeria to a lawless Nation.

In the same vein, the leadership of NAPS also charge the Nigerian Senate and other States House Of Assembly to look into this and take a strong move against Rape, our ladies are dying, so many have been raped but don't have the boldness, strength, courage and privilege to open up, many of them tend to live with this agony for a life time.
Such bill is very paramount at this crucial period when Rape is becoming the order of the day before it is seen as a normal thing, such bill will equal pose fear in the minds of men, knowing their fate if they are caught in the act or even attempting, it will also give hope to the voiceless. There are numerous cases of house help, maids and so many who were /are constantly raped by their pay masters, some got pregnant during the process and were later pushed out of the house, leaving them to leave a more miserable life, they need a voice to speak for them, they need shoulders to lean on, they need strength to open up, all these can be achieved only when the harsh  penalty is clearly spelt by the law and as well being enforced when anyone is found wanting in such regards.

RAPE IS EVIL...
SAY AN EMPHATIC NO TO RAPE.

Aluta Continua, Victoria Acerta.
