Lockdown: Kano reopens football viewing centres

The Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has directed the reopening of all viewing centres in the state.

He gave the directive when the leadership of the Soccer Viewing Centres Association, Kano State chapter paid him a courtesy call at the Government House in Kano on Friday.

He appealed to them to ensure strict adherence to all protocols enunciated by health workers in order to curtail the spread of the disease in the state.

The governor donated 40,000 face masks to the association for distribution at various viewing centres to strengthen observance of the laid down protocols.

“It is in line with our decision to see that our economy bounces back, in the state that I directed all viewing centres to reopen,” he said.

Ganduje reminded them that, as they gather youth in their viewing centres, they must create awareness among them on how to prevent the spread of the pandemic.

The Kano chairman of the association, Sharu Ahlan, assured the governor that protocols of the virus would be strictly adhered to.
