I have failed to protect you - Nigerian Governor tells his people
The Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari, has disclosed on Monday, June 15, 2020, that he has failed the people of his state, due to the recurrent attack of bandits on residents of his state.
The governor made the claim while speaking with reporters at the Government House in Katsina. He added that he is not a happy man, base on the fact that his first year in office have been marred with attacks from armed bandits.
He explained further that his inability to protect residents from the invasion of the bandits makes his tenure a failure to the people so far, contrary to his pledge to ensure the security of lives and property throughout the state, as they are left troubled on how to live and sleep peacefully during the incessant attacks.
The governor added that bandits are worse than animals because they kill people indiscriminately. He sighted the example of a lion and tiger that only kills when its hungry and doesn’t kill all animals as a reason why he called them humans that are worse than animals.
The Governor lamented the recent massacre of people at Faskari and parts of Dandume local government area, where lots of lives were lost, as the bandits kept spraying bullets at residents for no reason. He wondered why humans would do such things that animals cannot even do.
The governor ensured that his administration is playing its role to complement the efforts of the security agencies in terms of what is expected of his administration and the resources available to them. He however mentioned that there are no innocent people in the forests.
It would be recalled that the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), had recently called President Muhammadu Buhari and northern governors failures as regards security issues, based on their inability to protect lives and property in the region.
On the massacre in Katsina State, it is not enough for the Governor to lament, but to resign and allow a better person to serve since his Government has failed the people.
ReplyDeleteI feel so much unhappy each time I hear the military saying that they have either captured or killed Boko Haram leader, I wonder why they can be deceiving themselves, if we cannot do anything, we have SOMEONE, who knows and sees all we do not know or see, He definitely will judge the so-called powers that be. Our GOD is not asleep BUT looking upon those perpetrators of evil and unrighteousness whether they will come to reasoning and REPENT otherwise judgement is at hand. Let's not be weary in doing good. May God help us in this country. Amen.
