Father arrested after allegedly sleeping with 13-yr-old daughter in Osun As 19-year-old Man raped teenager in Ila

A father,  who is a farmer has been arrested on suspicion for having  carnal knowledge with his 13-year-old daughter more than one time in Osun, VOICEAIRMEDIA reports.


The suspect, Adeyeye, a residents at B50 Agbongbe Street in Ibokun, Obokun Local Government Area of the state, while fielding questions from journalists said it was intoxication that led him into raping his daughter.







“She is my daughter from my other wife that left me and I have had sex with her like twice under the influence of alcohol. But on the day I was arrested, I did not have sex with her. I punished for refusing to cook as I instructed and she went out to tell neighbours that I was having sex with her.



“My wife at home had warned me that I should not allow my daughter access to my room to avoid temptation but I did not listen to her”, he said.










The Police Commissioner in the state,  Mr Undie Adie, made this known while briefing newsmen on the activities of the command in the last one month.







According to Adie, the suspect was arrested on June 17 following a complaint made by the victim that her father was sleeping with her.



The commissioner said the police took the victim to a hospital for medical examination and treatment.












Meanwhile, a 19-year-old Isiaka Afolabi of Adekunle area in Ila-Oragun defiled a 7-year-old minor of the same address. While Oyerinde Oyeniyi, 28, was said to have illegal carnal knowledge of his 11 years old landlord’s daughter at Mokuro road in Ile-Ife.











Also five other persons were arrested over alleged rape and sexual violence between May 28 and June 17.








Adie further said six suspected cultists were arrested in Ede on June 18 , while one was arrested on Iwara Road, Ilesa, on June 23 during a cult clash which led to the death of one Emmanuel Adeleye after engaging the police in a shootout.


Three suspected armed robbers who attacked some residents of Ipetumodu town on June 19 were also arrested while N195,635 as well as weapons used for their operation were recovered from them.










He said a counterfeit currency printing syndicate was also smashed by the police on June 20 at Osoko’s Compound in Apomu where three suspects were arrested.


The commissioner said 53,800 counterfeit US dollars and other exhibits, including charms, were recovered from the gang.


Adie, who said that all those arrested by the police were being prosecuted.







The Commissioner of Police, however, urged parents of victims of rape to stopped withdrawing cases against suspects due to persuasion from either community leaders or parents of victims.


He added that the command would no longer agree to the settlement of such rape cases but ensure that perpetrators face the full wrath of the law.
