Anambra CP, DPO showered encomiums for exhibiting professional conduct








The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, John Abang, and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), of 3-3 Division, Onitsha Addu Bawa, as well as officers attached to the division, has been praised by a Rights group, Human Rights Liberty Access and Peace Defenders’ Foundation (HURIDE), for rescuing a 9-year-old girl from his uncle.

Recall that the victim, identified as Chioma Ogbu, according to a police source, is the nephew of the suspect, Hillary Apeh, and she has been subjected to several molestations based on the scars that was found all over her body.













He was however arrested by Police officers that are attached to the 3-3 Police Station, Onitsha, on Sunday, June 14, 2020.








During a courtesy visit to the DPO in Onitsha, the chairman of the group, Dede Uzor Uzor, who led other members of the group including Chairman, Campaign for Democracy, CD Anambra State chapter Comrade Ekene Nbadi, Chiarman, Civil Liberties Organization, CLO Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, commended the police for rescuing the 9-year-old Chioma Ogbu.















In addition to the humanitarian disposition and professionalism in rescuing the abused girl, the group also praised the DPO for installing multi million CCTV cameras in and outside the station, leading to easy checkmating of criminal activities within and outside the division.



The group also asssured the DPO that he would be awarded by the human rights group for his outstanding performance and they also made some cash donations to offset hospital bills of the victim.
