A Typical Nigerian Church, Where Pastor makes announcement that the church wants to buy a new instrument, 5 people are already pledging specific amount in huge numbers but when the Worker's president’s kids needs money for WAEC, NECO or JAMB, 1 tray will be brought forward for the church member to drop 50 naira and 100 naira.
The rich Woman has a special sit in the Church and she's invited into the affairs of the Church but the poor dedicated man has no say.
The rich man will prefer to write his name on a fat tithe envelope and drop it to the pastor so they'll know he's doing well rather than identify the needy and give it to them. God will be happy still but I can't tell him how to spend his money.
The poor will contribute to build a church university their kid's can't attend, even if it is a scholarship program for the brilliant few.
Some members can't come to Church again because they don't have what to wear yet a fellow member intimidates others by wearing a new dress every Sunday! The rich member won't even offer a lift to the poor member even though they're going to the same direction.
Not all churches though but a large percentage of them. I just hope we pay attention to things that matters.
