Woman kills husband in Delta over choice of will

A woman has allegedly killed her husband at Issele Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State over will issue.

The woman, Veronica, a native of Abakaliki, been married to the deceased, Uwebunor, for a while and the duo were blessed with three kids aside the kid the man had with another woman before he married Veronica.

Problem began to emerge from the marriage when the man bought a land and build the house the couple lives in at Issele Uku. It was gathered that, Veronica told her husband to make his will on Tuesday, over the fear that the other kid, 23-year-old man, would take over the property if anything happens to the husband.

According to the source, the fact that Uwebunor didn’t pay Veronica’s bride price was another fear she had, because she would be termed as not legally married to him if anything happens.

The man, according to the source, however waived the idea without much consideration. Little did he know that Veronica had another plan in her mind.

A family source who spoke with our correspondent said, “Uwebunor was sleeping when the woman hit him with hard object on the head. She went further to stab him on the neck with a knife before she poured Kerosene on him and set him ablaze.

He did not get burnt because of the blood on his body.”

The corpse of the deceased has since then been deposited at the mortuary and Veronica have been arrested by security personnel.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed that the woman had been arrested while investigation was ongoing.
