MESSAGE TITLE: THE FORCE OF EXCELLENCE - PART 1

In career or business never stay in a place where God has not assigned you to be. Abraham prospered in Egypt - Genesis 12:10; 13:2 but God asked Isaac not to go down to Egypt - Genesis 26:1-14. During hardship do not be tempted to move to a place you believe is more prosperous; hear from God first. Never take a permanent decision because of a temporary challenge. Always inquire from the Holy Spirit before taking any step in career and business. If you are not making progress, perform a proper and sincere self-evaluation.

Places don’t make people, people make places.

The Forces of Excellence:

Excellence is doing a common thing uncommonly well, going ahead of others.

1. Your appearance is a message to others - Genesis 41:14; Proverbs 7:10

If you are dressed carelessly you will not be taken seriously. You are addressed based on your appearance.

2. Stay in the centre of your strength - Proverbs 18:16.

Refuse to be a mediocre, excel in whatever you do. There is no gift of skill, it is developed. Stop focusing on your weakness, build your strength.

3. Continually grow in the knowledge of your assignment - Proverbs 22:29.

Refuse to be static; don’t use yesterday’s information for a growing age, it may become obsolete. Constantly update your knowledge bank in your field of endeavour by: consulting experts in your field, reading relevant materials, training (formal and informal). Motivate and develop yourself, do not wait to be pushed or coerced.

Increase your level of productivity. Statistics has it that 84% of workers will need supervision to complete a given task or work, 14% must have some form of supervision while only 2% accept responsibility without supervision - strive to be among the 2%.

Fasting and prayer can never take the place of diligence.
