Soldier shoots DPO, kills Police sergeant

Two soldiers have been arrested by the Police in Lagos state for allegedly shooting a Police DPO and killing a Sergeant.

Mr. Elkana said that the suspects, Kehinde Elijah and his accomplice, Ezeh Frank, shot at the Divisional Police Officer of illemba Hausa Police station and his guard for refusing to release their motorcycle that was impounded on the tenth of May for violating the lockdown order.

He said that during interrogation, the suspect, Kehinde, who was already on the police wanted list, claimed to have deserted the military in 2015 while still undergoing training in the North East. .

He listed the items recovered from the suspects to include four pairs of military fatigues.

The Police spokesman said that the DPO is currently being treated while investigation is on going after which the suspects would be charged.
