NANS Presidential Hopeful Advocates For Reduction Of School Fees As Covid-19 Crisis Drags Economy

The Leading Presidential candidate of the National association of Nigerian students (NANS), Sunday Asefon on Saturday has urged Nigeria government to cut School fees as Covid-19 crisis further drags economy into recession, Voice Air Media reports.


Sunday Asefon made the call while speaking on a news and current affairs program "THE CONVERSATION" on Newcruse 92.7fm in Ikere, Ekiti state.









 Asefon, who reiterated that Nigerian government must be a partner in progress to take its full responsibilities by making Education affordable for Nigerian students after this COVID-19 pandemic.


'Due to the lockdown, some parents are struggling to survive while others are not making enough profit as businesses are not booming as expected, to pay huge school fee for their children will be difficult after pandemic'. he said. 









Federal and state governments had introduced new policies to ensure students acquire unhindered learning Nigeria which is E-Learning (Electronic /online teaching) without proper funding and inability to provide some necessary gadgets needed for students.

While speaking with our correspondent, the government should help our students who do not have hope to be educated, as a matter of urgency, they should slash the school fees of every higher institution across the country, to give hope to Nigerian students, Asefon said.
