Sheikh Haruna Tambuwal, Father of Aminu Tambuwal, the Sokoto State Governor is dead.

This was contained in a condolence tweet by former Vice President and presidential candidate of the PDP in the general election, Atiku Abubakar.

Although the cause of his death was not mentioned in the condolence tweet, Atiku Abubakar prayed to Allah to forgive the sins of the late Tambuwal.

He wrote;

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. I am saddened at the loss of Sheikh Haruna Tambuwal, the father of Gov. @AWTambuwal. May he be a beneficiary of the blessings associated with the blessed Ramadan season. I pray to Allah to forgive his sins and grant him Aljannah Firdaus. Ameen

Sheikh Tambuwal was reported to have died in his residence during a brief illness at his residence in Tambuwal Council of Sokoto State.
