Another Boko Haram commander surrenders as Military rescues 241 captives

Men of the Nigerian Army of Operation Lafiya Dole (OPLD) have once again exterminated several boko haram henchmen in a sweep operation in Borno.




In a press briefing, the coordinator, defense media operations, Maj. Gen. John Eneche said the gallant troops of super camp 11, Gamboura under sector 1 of OPLD, during a sweep operation at Madu town on May 24, counteract 12 book haram extremist.


He further said the troop attached to the operation rescued 241 locals who were held in captivity, of which 105 of them were female, while the other comprises of 136 children.

Four Boko Haram terrorists’ flags, one motorcycle, two bicycles, one amplifier and two sewing machines we’re recovered by the troops during the operation.








Maj. Gen John Eneche also disclosed that a top ranking Boko haram fighter, Malam Adamu who goes by the alias Saad Karami, who was the mastermind of the last attack on Soldiers in Baga town also surrendered to troops of 242 battalion in Monguno.


According to Eneche, another sets of extremist, which includes several suicide bombers were subdued by the troops of 51 battalion.


He went further to say that the gallant men of the Nigerian Army neutralized terrorists who mounted 10 gun trucks in an attempt to attack and ambush the troops locations at bank junction and firgi in Obama local government area respectively.
