By Bright Olorungbotemi

Online media practitioner, Comrade Ajélogbón De-Moon and Inter Party Advisory Council, State of Osun, has called upon the State government of Osun, Governor Gboyega Oyetola to relax the lockdown order in the state, VOICE AIR media reports.

Full statement made from IPAC below:

"IPAC wishes to appreciate the people of the state for their cooperation during the lockdown period and we like to encourage them to take Responsibility! Wash their hands frequently with soap under running water. Avoid touching their faces & high-contact surfaces to prevent coronavirus spread and ensure they clean all surfaces frequently, high-contact surfaces include door handles, stair rails and tables.

IPAC equally sympathized with the artisans and businesses in the state whose business is greatly affected by the lockdown, we also shared the pain of those whose livelihood depended their daily earnings. We encourage them to bear with the state government for our own good.

We like to commend the state government for their swift action in combating COVID-19 in the state.

Furthermore we congratulate Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola led Admisitration for the success recorded so far in the state on the discharging of ten people out of 17 that are currently receiving treatment in Ejigbo.

It was on record that apart from those returning from Ivory Coast, no new case again in the State of Osun in the last one week.

In view of the above, the leadership of state of Osun IPAC hereby appeals to the state Government to consider relaxing the present Lockdown in the state.

The government should continue to deploy security personnel and public health officers to our borders and ensure tight security at the borders and carry out appropriate test before any individual is allowed to enter the state to prevent importation of the virus to the state.

To set the record straight IPAC state of Osun will like to refer to our first publication on the distribution of palliative, we strongly like to state that we are not against the Government of State of Osun on distribution of palliative and that we are only requesting that IPAC should be carried along because of our closeness to the people and being the umbrella body of all the political parties in State of Osun, and again we are equally calling the attention of the 21-man welfare committee setup by state government to note that IPAC is the umbrella of all political parties in the state all matters related to political parties should be channeled through them.

IPAC is always available to the service of the government for the betterment of our people.

Signed. Pastor Popoola Olatunji

Chairman, IPAC State of Osun."

"OSUN COVID-19 LOCKDOWN REVIEW: 7-Points Governor Oyetola Should Consider

By Ajélogbón De-Moon

Your Excellency,

We've witnessed 13th day of a total lockdown of the entire State of Osun, it is a double hedge sword of cruelty for many residents when they are not allowed to go out to seek for their daily breads and the palliatives meant for them were carted away by those in charge.

It is a known fact that total lockdown method cannot work for a country like Nigeria where the livelihood of its residents is not individually captured while its resources are being mismanaged.

I must commend your efforts in finding lasting solution to this pandemic. Indeed, you are walking the talking.

Sir, Kindly take note of the under listed pieces of advice.

1) There is no better time for government to partially relax the lockdown than this time (after the first 14 days) because it has shown better how hungry, frustrated and desperate people are.

2) Inter State and town borders should remain closed for the main time.

3) Those who survive base on their daily earnings like artisans, shop owners and markets should be allowed to resume operation for a limited period of hours with social distancing measures while civil servants should be considered but schools is one of the easiest way to spread the virus.

4) Social gathering, clubbing, partying and religion congregation that is more than 20 people should not be allowed.

5) Government should allow the largest labour in the state (Okada & Korope riders) to resume work within limited hours.

Use of face masks, distancing inside bus 'Korope' (limited number of passengers) should enforced.

6) The level of awareness on Covid-19 should be geared up by the authority concerned while security operatives should be proactive in enforcing the law at every moment.

7) The State relief committee should come up with workable measures that are more realistic than the previous way adopted by state government in providing palliative to the people of Osun.

Conclusively, we must not forget that some Nigerians are more interested in their selfish interest and partisan politics than how this nation will move forward. I wish your excellency a soft landing as you pilot the affairs of Osun.
