ASUU members still skeptical about payment of salaries by FG

Comrades, many media have reported the directive of Mr President to pay academic staff of universities that have not been paid February and March 2020 salaries on account of issues over IPPIS enrollment.

While this is a cheery news, it might not yet be Uhuru as there is the mention of BVN in the matter of payment. If BVN is to be used as a basis for payment which is not a requirement in GIFMIS platform, it would appear that we may be effectively howbeit, surreptitiously, captured in IPPIS, especially given the antecedent of the Finance Minister and the gimmicks of AGF.

I would want to plead with everyone to adhere strictly to the Union's principles, as media reports are not always accurate and hence the need to rely on the ASUU channels of communication. To this end therefore, I urge all members to make haste slowly over submission of BVN as that may be tantamount to surreptitious enrollment on the IPPIS platform.

Let us all wait for directive from national please.
