Why Monarch sues Oluwo, seeks N100m for assault

The Agbowu of Ogbaagba, Oba Dhikirullahi Akinropo, has approached the high court sitting in Osogbo, Osun state to demand the sanction of Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi for alleged assault, Voice air media reports.

According to the writ of summons by Agbowu’s counsel, Soji Oyetayo, witnessed by reporter  yesterday in Osogbo, Oba Akinropo demanded N100million as damages from Oluwo.



The plaintiff-monarch is also asking the court to award N1million against the defendant as the cost of securing legal service for the action.



The writ of summoning dated February 27, 2020 was supported with 39 paragraphs of claims.



According to the reports, Oba Akinropo alleged that Oluwo of Iwo pounced on him with a pouch on his face at the office of the Assistant General of Police in Osogbo, which resulted in Oluwo inflicting injury on his cheeks.



He alleged that the wound resulted in him being admitted at the Osun State Specialist Hospital, Asubiaro, Osogbo.



The monarch seek permission from the court to prevent Oba Akanbi from intimidating, harassing or threatening to attack him, while he should be compelled to desist from any action that could cause a breach of peace anywhere in Iwo, Ayedire and Olaoluwa local government areas of the state.

VAM News recalled that the Oluwo of Iwo was suspended by the Osun State Traditional Rulers’ Council during an emergency meeting held in Osogbo.
