Protest hits Ekiti over Ureje Bridge

The residents of Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital in the early hours of Thursday took to Ado-Ikare road to express displeasure over the Ureje bridge which links to two higher institution in the town; The federal polytechnic Ado Ekiti and Afe Babalola University.

The bridge collapsed last year as a result of heavy flood and was temporarily fixed by the Ekiti state government whereas the federal government is yet to provide adequate measures to fix the bridge which has become a danger zone for commuters.

The Founder of ABUAD university, Are Afe Babalola had written an open letter to the federal government on the situation of the bridge but nothing is yet to be done, this spike the protest this morning whereas the residents vowed to continue with their protest until needful is done.
