Missing Boy in Ondo Church: Prophet Alfa Babatunde of Sotitobire church is very okay – Lawyer

The Lawyer to the founder of Sotitobire miracle centre at Oshinle quarters in Akure the Ondo state capital, Olusola Oke has debunked the rumour that Prophet Alfa Babatunde attempted to commit suicide at the Olokuta correctional center in Akure.

The founder of Sotitobire Church is standing trial over alleged missing of a year old boy Gold Kolawole in his Church in December, 2019.


Alfa Babatunde along with six other accused persons appeared before an Akure high court on Thursday for the second time since the commencement of the trial which was transferred from an Akure magistrate court.





At the court sitting on Thursday, mother of the missing boy, Modupe Kolawole collapsed while being examined by the State counsel.





This halted proceedings which lasted seven hours for some minutes as court clerks came to her rescue while the state counsel calmed her down.





The case has been adjourned to the 6th of April, 2020 while Prophet Babatunde and six others were returned to Olokuta correctional center in Akure.





However, rumours were rife today Friday in social media that prophet Babatunde attempted to take his own life.





It was said the prophet swallowed “rat poison” and the prison officers rushed him to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.





The lead counsel to the Prophet, Olusola Oke has put lie to the claim.







Speaking with ojuasha correspondent, the legal practitioner said “the story is not correct. I have spoken with some people around him, i can confirm to you nothing bad has happened to him.”





Also, the Nigerian correctional centre, Olokuta Akure has denied the report.





The public relations officer of the center , Babatunde Ogundare described the report as untrue saying the prophet is very okay .
