Facebook shut Down Offices After Staff Tested Positive For Coronavirus

Social media giants, Facebook, is reported to have closed down its London offices till Monday, after a visiting employee from Singapore tested postive to the novel coronavirus.



The Singapore based employee last visited Facebook’s London offices between February 24-26 and was later diagnosed with COVID-19.




The firm has directed other staffs to work from their homes through the weekend, while advising those who came in contact with the disease carrier to into to go on self isolation and as well monitor themselves for any symptoms of Covid-19.



The company wrote;
“An employee based in our Singapore office who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 visited our London offices February 24-26, 2020,” Facebook said in a statement.



“We are therefore closing our London offices until Monday for deep cleaning and employees are working from home until then.”



In total, 206 people have so far tested positive for Covid-19 as of Saturday morning in the UK, seeing an increase of 42 from 164 cases confirmed on Friday.
