An appraisal of health Communication on drug abuse - DYNAMIC ALHAJA Reveals
Appraisal is an act assessing something or someone
Health is the state of being free from illness or injury.
Communication is imparting or exchanging of information by, speaking, writing or using some other medium
Campaign is a work in an organized and active way towards a particular goal, typically political or social one
Drug abuse or substance abuse according to WHO refers to the harmful or hazardous use of psychoactive substances, including alcohol and illicit drugs.
Psychoactive substance use can lead to dependence syndrome -- a duster of behavioral, cognitive and physiologcal phenomenal that develop after repeated substance use and that typically include a strong desire to take the drug, difficulties in controlling its use and persisting in its use.
Despite harmful consequences, a higher priority is given to drug use than to other activities and obligations increased tolerance and sometimes a physical withdrawal state.
Substances commonly abused by teens and young adults includes:

Tobacco
Marijuana
Inhalants
Cocaine
Steroids
Opoids.
Risk factors are factors that increase a person's chances for drug abuse while protective factors decreases it.
Risk factors:
Early aggressive behavior
Ruins relationship
Drug availability
Poverty.
Protective factors:
Self control
Parental monitoring
Academic competency
Anti drug use policy
Strong neighborhood attachment
Now that we know the effect of drug abuse,how can we prevent it so that it will not affect the up coming generation (youths).
Like MR AJITONI YUSUF had said the previous day that youths are in the best position to eradicate poverty which I concurred,but how will these be possible if these same youths are drug addicts.So prevent this from occurrence,we need to campaign against it and these can be done in some ways:
1. EDUCATING THE PARENTS :There is a saying that says:You can't give what you don't have.Parents needs to be educated on this,so that they can have good impacts on their child.
2. SIGN POSTS :It should be written on sign post to serve as a reminder.
3. MEDICAL OUTREACH OR CARAVAN : During the outreach,there can be a section that will talk on DRUG ABUSE and all the people can be given " key holder "that state " say no to drug abuse" by doing this, it will serve as a reminder for the youths.
4. MASS MEDIA : This can also be effective when we have short plays done by medical practitioners on the television or radio stating the effect of drug abuse.
By doing all this,I believe that our youths would be aware and would be able to decide whether they would get involve in it or not.
