Coronavirus, The Chinese and Our Payback Time(Video) - Agbelusi Ganiyu

I wonder when people read news upside down, make unfair allegations based on already biased and jaundiced position or  wrong information with the Corona virus saga in focus.

Some people are alleging that a World power was behind the ravaging "Corona virus" that is shaking the world by releasing a bio weapon because of the rising influence of China as a great economic power and subsequently a military and political force in many Third world countries. I disagree with this school of thought.

    

Such people should remember the simple "cause and effect theory" or in  simpler form, "Action and reaction principle"  When the Chinese were eating all sorts of things abhorred by virtually other peoples and races of the human race, we were watching in awe and interesting but surprising curiosity without thinking of the implications of such daring "foolishness".

Now the "hen has come to roost" and we are raising hell and frantically running from pillar to post, looking for both remedial and preventive actions. Now millions of resources that ought to be used to make life worth living for the poor will be "wasted", trying to quarantine people and goods from China, treating the affected and looking for vaccines, which may not be immediate anyway. 

The psychological trauma the possibility of it spreading to you, God forbids me, can't be readily quantified.  This is a price we need to pay for watching when our neighbor's house was on fire. 

     

See, I sympathize with humanity for the effects of their passively watching the Chinese eating raw rats litters dipped in fatty substances and eating cockroaches, fried or otherwise. Menus which I don't think nature supports. 

 

For now, I think Nigerians who think one of the best ways to display social status is taking their wives, children and girlfriends is taking them to Chinese Restaurants or any other foreign food outlets may temporarily, at least for now, think twice. 

They may be gobbling what they are naturally not endowed to eat. I read not too long ago, on the line, that a particular company, in a "developed" country has got the right to be cooking and selling parts of human beings, which the owners had willed out to be sold. 

Back to the age of cannibalism you would say! The whole world has virtually pressed the mute button over the saddening development but by the time the repercussions come now, we will be making inhuman allusions.

         

See, the Yoruba's, my ethnic group reasoned wisely and in cautioning manner concluded that "When your kinsman eats dangerous and inedible insects and you fail to warn him or her to desist, his abnormal snoring effect won't allow you to sleep". 

We are witnessing the sleepless night of our passive look at China. The Hausas of Nigeria warned too, that, " A mother who watches her daughter rinse her genitals( apologies, no disrespect intended) will both observe sleepless night.

              

I am optimistic that sooner than later, a vaccine and prompt solutions will be found to the Corona virus because the epicentre of the "virus quake" sorry, disease outbreak, is a wealthy nation with both human and scientific resources to fund it but also because of its being a great economic hub which the West cannot snub or isolate for long, all hands will be on deck for speedy solutions. 

Thank God it is not in an isolated African country or any of the Third world nations as political and economic considerations would have taken the front seats while souls are perishing.  If humanity escapes total "suicide" through our failure to act when it ought to, we will be the better for it. (Opinion mine)...
