Just In: Ondo House Of Assembly To Reconvene Today to tackles recent issues in the state

The Ondo State House Of Assembly has announced plans to Reconvene Today. The emergency meeting which was made public by the current speaker, did not give details on why the house is reconvening today.

But sources who spoke exclusive to Zebra News revealed that the Local Government Chairmen Extension which was rejected by the Lawmakers will be top the agenda. We will bring you details later in the day.

Meanwhile, the constituted local government caretaker government in ondo state came to an end by law few days ago with the state assembly rejecting the tenure elongation of local council area formation.

This action came barely few weeks ago when governor Rotimi Akeredolu gave no tangible reason for his absence on budget presentation to the state house of assembly which was done by a designated commissioner.

Sources said the rejection was a prezzie to the governor as new year gift though still regarded as presumptive.

The source further explained that ,so many things were happening before now which the executive took for granted ranging from appointments ,misappropriation of funds on proposed local government election almost every year and the moribund state assembly chamber without budget for its renovation, among other issues.

"Yes the governor is running a one man show now with the state assembly because he can't even trust them on his second term bid. The executive cannot even explain part of budgeted and fund released for the failed local government election in the state and particularly unbudgeted state assembly complex renovation which led to the fast play by the governor on the day of budget presentation".

According to report, the governor reaction to the rejection was preposterous and a scores on him.

The state house of assembly members are on six weeks recess, the probability in resolving issues with the governor particularly on the local government caretaker elongation in the nearest day cannot be guarantee without compromise on both sides.
