....NEW YEAR - NANS ZONE "C" CELEBRATES TEEMING NIGERIAN STUDENTS
...CHARGES THEM AGAINST BETRAYAL OF STRUGGLE AS TRANSITIONAL PROCESS BEGINS
The National Association of Nigerian Students, Zone C has appreciated the doggedness of her members throughout the year 2019 despite many challenges encountered as body and individuals at different citadels of learning across the the zone. Stated that no one is guilty of sabotaging the collective struggle of NANS ZONE C, and this highly display level of maturity by Nigerian students calls for appreciation. Urged that the Association must be run with high sense of maturity without an iota of compromise against our charter of demand.
Moreover, the zone has commended the national President of NANS, Comr. Danielson Akpan for his leadership prowess and capacity. As, "Comr. Danielson Akpan has been standing to protect and press home the interest of Nigerian students at all times without fear or compromise, no matter whose interest is at the fore. And, we must commend him for that.
Having a leader like him has given NANS a recognized voice we clamour for."
According to the Press Statement jointly signed by Comr. Suleiman Muhammed Sarki, Coordinator, and Comr. Adebayo Kayode J., PRO. NANS Zone C.
The leadership of the zone which encompasses North Central and North East including FCT warned that Nigerian students must discontinue the betrayal of struggle as transitional process is in blue view. NANS is the apex students body in Nigeria; and if a betrayal is therefore given a room, the voice of the body shall be suppressed for their hidden agenda and financial gain. Efforts must be harness towards electing valiant and God-fearing leaders as NANS national convention holds this year. It stressed that Nigerian students have perceived the strength of NANS through the leadership roles of its dear President, Comr. Danielson. Thus, the baton of leadership must be handed over to a leader who knows the way, shows it, and walks down the way.
Furthermore, NANS, Zone C has called on the Federal Government to prioritize education and improve the allocation on educational budget. "Nigerian students are not in any way happy with the massive fallout of our educational system.
Education should have a larger percentage in our yearly budgets as a country in order to revive qualitative education. We want President Muhammad Buhari to practice one of Plato's maxims which says: *If a man neglects education, he walks lame to the end of his life.* Going by this, a proper care must be given to education so as to dwell in the Next Level of a positive definition.
To this end, "the anti-corruption crusade must, as a matter of urgency, be extended to educational sector. We don't want corrupted staff, be it teaching or non teaching on our campuses anymore!" The Press Statement reads.
Dare to struggle, dare to win!
